About us

Founded 2016, in Hertfordshire. We operate a small business with an ever-growing team of local animal lovers some whom own more than one pet themselves.
Our Award-Winning company started off with just two of us. Being dog owners ourselves we required pet care for our beloved pets. Having relied many times on family and friends to help out, we struggled to find a reliable and trustworthy pet minder in the area. Our dogs love constant human interaction and we were not keen on the idea of them staying within a kennel environment. Leading busy life’s we wanted a company or somebody that was professional and responsible enough to be entrusted with our “babies” and to assist with walking, checking in on them and taking care of them when we went away. With such high dog ownership in our local area, we were very shocked that such a service did not exist. This was where the vision for Dad-in-Paws first became realised.

After months of researching, planning, studying and training, Dad-in-Paws started operations with just two team members and from the outset focused on being professional and friendly, trustworthy, animal loving and reliable. These are the values that laid the foundations for our Tender Loving Pet Care service and that continue to do so.
The demand for our services has been phenomenal and due to this we have expanded our team to meet the ever-growing demand. We have the largest team of Professional Pet Minders and Dog Walkers in the local area.

Each team member is security checked by the Disclosure Scotland process before joining the team and insured under a pet business insurance. We at Dad-in-Paws are fully licensed and vetted under the local Boroughs under Animal boarding establishment Act 1963, Animal Welfare Act 2006, Dog Microchipping Regulations 2016 covering (England, Wales and Scotland).

Our team have a number of years good first-hand knowledge of dogs and cats. We are constantly looking to improve our expertise and all of our employees have completed several external theory and practical training courses to ensure both walkers and minders knowledge of the pet world is extensive.

In 2018, we launched the Dad-in-Paws Training Academy whereby we created our own interactive classroom training courses. These are module based and exclusive to our team members. We realised that we have a great deal of experience within our team through pet ownership and various qualifications and we want to continuously share this amongst ourselves to ensure that our knowledge and skill is the best it can be when caring for your pets.

Gary & Ashley, Directors
